What is fluid power in a hydraulic system?

The term "fluid power" refers to the process that transmits and controls energy using a pressurized fluid that is typically hydraulic oil that is moving through a closed system of valves, pumps, hoses, and cylinders. In a hydraulic system fluid power transforms electrical energy to hydraulic power through the pump and then transforms it to mechanical energy via the actuator, which allows the small force input to create a greater output force.
