Pull cylinders, hydraulic cylinders made to exert force through the retract stroke instead of the extend stroke, are used extensively in press and metal stamping applications as well as die-casting and plastics, clamping and material handling systems as well as offshore and marine rigging, mining equipment and heavy equipment, and automotive assembly lines where a clamping or pulling force is more significant than a pushing force.
