 Hydraulic coupling longevity is determined by the choice of material and seal design, pressure rating versus the actual pressure of the system and connection method and fluid compatibility, as well as vibration exposure, contamination control, and the environmental conditions, such as corrosion and temperature. The couplings that fail prematurely always have a problem with one or more of these areas. It could be due to an inappropriate material for the fluid, an inadequate level of pressure, or a repeated cycle that the design was not designed to withstand.
