Caterpillar is expanding its lineup of F Series wheeled excavators with the introduction of two new compact radius models designed to work as tool carriers. While the new M315F and M317F are smaller than the rest of their F Series brethren, Cat says neither sacrifice power, performance or stability and instead boast larger working envelopes, high breakout forces and high lifting capacities. Both machines are powered by Cat C4.4 ACERT engines providing 150 horsepower and meeting Tier 4 Final emissions regulations through the use of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and a high-pressure/common-rail fuel system.Cat says this new engine provides quick response to changing loads, noting that operators can expect strong performance paired with wide steering angles and a generous turning radius no matter the jobsite, including utility repair, road construction and even large earthmoving projects with heavy duty lifting tasks. And like most T4F engines, the Cat C4.4 also offers fuel efficiency features like engine idle shutdown; Eco Mode, which lowers engine speed but does not compromise power; and Automatic Engine Speed Control which lowers engine speed when maximum power isn’t needed. A shift-to-travel mode optimizes driveline performance while also conserving fuel, and the cooling system features a variable speed, on-demand fan for further fuel savings. The hydraulic system on these new machines reduces the load on the engine by matching flow to load demand, providing even more fuel savings. The load-sensing hydraulics have dedicated pumps for the swing and implement functions for faster and smoother movement, Cat says. Both the M315F and M317F are designed to be tool carriers, Cat says, and allow operators to quickly change attachments in seconds from the cab. Both models come equipped with medium and high pressure auxiliary hydraulic lines, an Auto-Connect quick coupler and a monitor-based tool control system. This monitor allows operators to set up to 10 different flow/pressure settings for various Cat work tools. The monitor also allows operators to assign specific auxiliary functions to buttons and sliders on the joystick and on the foot pedal.Cat says these new machines can be equipped from the factory to accept the company’s new tiltrotator which rotates 360 degrees and allows for direct mounting of work tools.Despite their compact radius design, the M315F and M317F feature the same cab as their larger F Series brethren. Inside, operators will find plenty of head and foot room, automatic climate control and adjustable steering column, seats and joystick/controls.The M315F and M317F also feature a new cruise control system. An automatic brake/axle lock system detects when the service brake and axle need to be locked or unlocked and handles that task for the operator. Automatic swing and travel lock functions eliminate the need to release the swing lock pin.The machines feature a large skylight, an all glass door, wide angle mirrors and a PIN-code anti-theft system. An LED lighting package is standard on these machines and includes a light for the standard right side camera, counterweight light for the rearview camera, three cabin-mounted working lights, and a light on the boom. The right side camera has a separate in-cab color monitor, which also can display rearview camera images simultaneously.http://www.whyps.com/News/Market-trends/caterpillar-intros-m315f,/62364

Since Kubota Tractor Company introduced its original BX Series in 2000, the company has continued to improve its subcompact tractor offerings. Kubota’s newest line of subcompact diesel tractors – the BX80 Series – was created to be a versatile and affordable option for first-time tractor buyers. The line is made up of four new tractor models – BX1880, BX2380, BX2680, and BX23S – including a standard-equipped front loader and backhoe unit.“Whether it’s mowing, landscaping, or blowing snow, the do-it-all BX Series makes outdoor chores enjoyable year-round,” says Robert Cockroft, Kubota’s subcompact and compact tractor product manager. “It’s the perfect choice for first-time tractor buyers, and it’s sure to be the sharpest-looking tool in your garage.”Each of the BX80 tractors is powered by a Kubota liquid-cooled, three-cylinder diesel engine and is four-wheel drive. That means better traction for tough tasks and less fuel wasted. The BX1880, BX2380, and BX2680 are powered by 18- hp., 23-hp., and 25.5-hp. engines. Those models also fit through standard 7-foot-high garage doors and are equipped with ROPS systems.A new four-point hitch is on the front of the models, and the standard Category I 3-point hitch is on the back, which makes attaching any of the many Land Pride implements simple. Every one of the tractors includes an easy-attach, mid-mount mower available with a fine-cut or standard-cut deck.Because of the Swift-Tach systems on all four models, it isn’t necessary to leave the operator’s station to attach or to remove loaders. A single-lever hydraulic disconnect will let you disconnect all four hydraulic lines at once.If wanted, you can get a two-lever quick couple and third-function hydraulics to create an even more versatile front loader. If leaking grease drives you crazy, you’ll be happy to know that the no-leak grease fitting on the loaders won’t let grease leak around the sides of the pin or the floor where it’s being stored. A flat-faced coupler also contributes to keeping storage areas clean and leak-free when the loader isn’t connected.

Engel, a Austria based plastic injection moulding machine manufacturer, plans to introduce its upgraded hydraulic injection moulding units at the K 2016 event scheduled to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany from 19-26th October. The company has upgraded its Engel victory and Engel duo series of injection moulding machines to achieve higher levels of precision, ergonomics and efficiency. In addition to allowing for more precise injection and higher process stability, the restructured units are expected to meet individual requirements even more exactly.Designed to cover a wide spectrum of applications, the Engel victory features tie-bar-less clamping unit allowing for efficient manufacturing concepts in highly integrated and automated processes as well as in multi-component applications. The ENGEL duo large-size machines are available for clamping forces from 3,500 to 55,000 kN.At the trade fair, Engel intends to make available its Engel victory machines from an injection unit size of 860 and the Engel duo machines to sizes 23060 for orders. Furthers machine sizes are planned to be made available at a later stage.Engel has restructured the sizes of the two units as well as optimized its performance data such as injection pressure, injection speed and plasticising capacity, for current and future requirements. The restructured hydraulic ENGEL injection moulding machines provides improved ergonomics, both for the machine operator as well as the maintenance technician, the company said.Recently, Engel has acquired Technische Informationssysteme (T.I.G), provider of manufacturing execution systems (MES) for the injection moulding industry.Engel said that the acquisition is expected to boost its MES business, thereby achieving another milestone in its Industry 4.0 strategy.
