Today  Hydraulics is an important technology and engineering science using chemistry, engineering, and other sciences involving the mechanical properties and use of liquids. At a really basic level, hydraulics is that the liquid counterpart of pneumatics, which concerns gases.
Hydraulic is the technology that deals with the control, generation, and transmission of power using pressurized liquid. it's said that it is a muscle that moves Industry.

Hydraulic systems use a liquid like petroleum oils, synthetic oils, and water.

As water has many deficiencies as compared to hydraulic oils, I.e. water freezes more readily, isn't nearly as good lubricant and tends to rust metal components.

Hydraulic oils are currently far more widely used instead of water.
Hydraulics may be a mechanical function that operates through the force of liquid pressure. In hydraulics-based systems, mechanical movement is produced by contained, typically through cylinders moving pistons. pumped liquid, Hydraulics is component mechatronics, which mixes mechanical, electronics and software engineering within the designing and manufacturing of products and processes.

Hydraulics is a very broad term.

So after reading everything about this term. I just understand that Hydraulic may be a header term given to all or any of those mechanisms or systematic actions that are used for doing something meaningful( work) with the help of a fluid(with relation to its different properties), not necessarily water.

How Hydraulics Rule Wind Turbines Systems?


Are wind generation and hydraulic power related? if your answer is  “No” if you're not from the hydraulic industry or related. But the reality is, hydraulics plays a key role within the operation of most of the wind turbines. As you recognize, wind energy is generated by the rotation of turbine blades. So, systems with less vibration will reduce premature failure of components and improves the productivity and lifespan of the system.

The most important functions of hydraulics in wind turbines include pitch adjustment, yaw and rotor braking, cooling & lubrication, and power transfer. For wind turbines, it's necessary to regulate the rotation of blades that weigh tons. At wind speed, the blades will rotate faster and damage the turbine. This problem is often resolved by adjusting the pitch angle and by using the brake control.
